Event Follow-Up

One of the major topics discussed during the Scrum Meet was the importance of the SBOK™ Guide to the Scrum community and how it helped shaping the industry in the last one year. The Phoenix Scrum Meet also kick-started the formal review process of SBOK™ Guide which will end by May 31, 2015. At the end of review period, a new version of the SBOK™ Guide will be released. We would like your suggestions about improvement opportunities to the SBOK™ Guide during the public review period. Participants can review the entire Guide or only a few chapters and provide suggestions to the SCRUMstudy core review team. The core review team will consider all the suggestions and incorporate the selected changes.

Winfried Hackmann

Winfried has more than 15 years of Project Delivery experience in the Telecommunications industry. Duringhis career of more than 30 years, he has also held engineer and management positions in R&D, Product Management, and Service. He has successfully built motivated multicultural teams, including virtual teams spanning several continents.

Winfried holds multiple Scrum and Agile certifications. He is a Certified SCRUMstudy Trainer for Scrum Master Certified (SMC-T), Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC-T), and Agile Expert Certified (AEC-T). He also has several years of practical work experience with Scrum. Winfried was the driver for the successful transition to Scrum for the VoIP product line at Nokia Siemens Networks. This was one of the largest Scrum projects worldwide with several hundred engineers working in more than 30 Scrum Teams distributed over multiple continents providing living proof of the flexibility and scalability of the Scrum framework.

Winfried is also a co-author of A Guide to the Scrum Body of Knowledge (SBOK™).

Gaynell Malone

Gaynell has vast industry experience with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, nonprofits, and education corporations. She has managed and deployed ERP systems, launched and grown Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse organizations, managed E-commerce implementations, and led Information Technology Departments. Throughout the years, she has gained experience managing risk projects and multimillion dollar programs for organizations and mentored employees for successful project launches. In recent years, she has led and coached teams in the pharmaceutical, educational, automotive, and food industries as a Scrum Master. She earned her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University and her Master's Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Rochester Institute of Technology.

She is a Certified SCRUMstudy trainer for Scrum Master (SMC-T), Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC-T), and Agile (AEC-T). Gaynell also holds several other professional industry certifications including the Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL. Gaynell is also a co-author of A Guide to the Scrum Body of Knowledge (SBOK™).

Buddy Peacock

Buddy is a multifaceted senior Information Technology professional with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Having been MIS Director for an eyewear manufacturing company as well as founding and having a hands-on leadership role in an application software development firm, Buddy's experience in managing software development projects covers a broad spectrum of the methodologies that exist in that arena, especially Scrum and Agile projects. His confidence face of technology clearly communicates technology value propositions to senior internal and external stakeholders. He is a customer-focused leader who ensures industry-leading levels of customer satisfaction and is a highly motivational team builder, coach, and mentor who forges top-performing, committed, and organized personnel, with superior retention rates.

Buddy is a Certified SCRUMstudy Trainer for Scrum Master (SMC-T), Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC-T) and Agile (AEC-T). Buddy is also a co-author of A Guide to the Scrum Body of Knowledge (SBOK™).

Drew Nations

Drew has years of project delivery experience in a number of different environments. He has led teams in traditional project management as well as leading the first implementations of Agile and Scrum project transitions in multiple companies. His experience has been mainly focused on Information Technology. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management at George Washington University.

Drew is a Certified SCRUMstudy Trainer for Scrum Master (SMC-T) Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC-T) and Agile (AEC-T).He also has a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.Drew is also a co-author of A Guide to the Scrum Body of Knowledge (SBOK™).

Ruth Kim

Ruth has established and managed project teams in various organizations, including General Motors and Adexa. She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of project delivery across multiple industries, as well as expertise in training, consulting, and project implementations, Ruth earned her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a Master's degree from Stanford University with concentrated studies in Organizational Behavior Management and Team Based Design. She is currently Senior VP of Academics at VMEdu, Inc., located in our office in Phoenix, AZ.

Ruth is a Certified SCRUMstudy Trainer for Scrum Master (SMC-T), Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC-T), and Agile (AEC-T). Ruth is also a co-author of A Guide to the Scrum Body of Knowledge (SBOK™).
